Henry S Kirby


MUNCIE - Henry S. Kirby, 80, died Saturday at his home after a short illness.

Mr. Kirby was born in Horse Cave, Ky., and had lived in Muncie since 1923. He retired from Delco Battery in 1977 and was a member of Eagles Lodge 231 and Delco Sympathy Club.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Mary Evelyn McCormick Kirby; eight sons, Henry G. Kirby (wife-Darlene), Clarence McCormick (wife-Judy), Randall Jett (wife-Bonnie), Michael Kirby (wife-Kay), Larry Kirby (wife-Netia), Donald Kirby (wife-June), Samuel Kirby (wife-Lisa), and Daniel Kirby (wife-Rebecca); six daughters, Sue Jones (husband-Edward), Sarah Jett, Katherine Hahn (husband-Kent), Donna Healy (husband-James), Kelli Kirby, and Judy Amdor; three sisters, Margie Chambers, Marie Miller and Pat Proctor (husband-Glenn); three brothers, Donald Kirby (wife-Phyllis), Clarence Kirby (wife-Marybelle), and Bill Kirby; a sister-in-law, Donna Crow; 40 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, and a sister.
