Cody Allen Bronnenberg

Yorktown - Cody Allen Bronnenberg, 18, left this life on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from a tragic work-related accident at a job site in Hartford City, Indiana.

Cody was born on April 3, 1998 at Ball Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. He was the beautiful baby boy of Amanda Kirby. Cody grew up in Yorktown and attended Yorktown Schools. Cody was an athlete who especially enjoyed wrestling and football. Cody was a great kid who loved to play video games, go to the lakes, and hang out with his friends.

Cody leaves behind his loving mother, Amanda Kirby; his sister, Bethanea Bronnenberg; and his grandmother, Netia Kirby, all of Yorktown; three uncles, Larry Kirby Jr. (Melissa) of Parker City, Michael Poston (Natasha) of Gig Harbor, WA, and Brett Kirby (Sabra) of Yorktown; two aunts, Tabitha Fultz (John) of Muncie and Tonya Evans of Gaston; his girlfriend, Kayli Tracy of Muncie; best friend, Johnny Chapman of Yorktown; many great-aunts and uncles, cousins, and dear friends, and his paternal grandparents.

Cody was preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry Kirby Sr.; uncle, Kevin Evans, and cousin Gauge Kirby.

A funeral service to celebrate Cody's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown, Indiana. Pastor John Tyner will officiate. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2016, and also one hour prior to the service Saturday at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel.
