Edith Baird

MUNCIE – Edith Baird, 79, went to her heavenly home Monday evening November 13, 2006, at Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born June 29, 1927, in Lawrence, MA the daughter of Francisco and Antoinette (Campanelli) Camasso and moved to Muncie in 1966.
 
Mrs. Baird was employed at Maldin Mills in Massachusetts during WWII. While in Muncie she was employed in Child Care.
 
Mrs. Baird was a member of Fig Tree Ministries and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She was also a Boy Scout Den Mother and Brownie Leader, and enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting, needlepoint, and quilting.
 
Surviving are two sons, Kevin R. Baird (wife-Diane), Eaton and Randy W. Baird, Muncie; her daughter, Rebecca E. Kirby, Eaton; four granddaughters, Brandi Hadley (husband-Jim), Amy Goodwine (husband Brody), Michelle Baird, and Reanne Kirby; two great grandchildren, Abigail Hadley and Garrett Hadley expected in December; two step-grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; two step-great great grandchildren; her sister, Beatrice Burgiel (husband-Jack), Andover, MA; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved pet, Jasmine.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Reeder W. Baird in 2000; and nine brothers and sisters.
 
A celebration of her life will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, November 17, 2006, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Private internment will be held in Elm Ridge Mausoleum.
