Sarah Edith Jett

MUNCIE–Sarah Edith Jett, 77, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016 at her residence. She was born on April 29, 1939 in Muncie, the daughter of Henry Samuel and Mary Evelyn (McCormick) Kirby.

Sarah was a member of the Special Olympics and worked in the workshop for several years at Hillcroft Services. She enjoyed Thursday activity night with Hillcroft doing crafts, music and other fun activities. She loved fishing, bird watching, campfires, and listening to her brothers sing and play guitar.

Survivors include her sisters, Donna Healy and Sue Jones; daughter, Kelli Kirby; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Fears; brothers, Clarence McCormick, Michael Kirby, Don Kirby, Glen Kirby, and Samuel Kirby; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Randall, Gordon, Harold and Larry; and three sisters, Sharon, Kathy and Marilyn.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Hillcroft Services, they gave her life much more meaning and purpose.

A celebration of life will be from 5-9 p.m. on Monday at Prairie View Restaurant, 6400 S. CR 560 E, Selma, IN. The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
