Edna Evans

A neighbor from the old neighborhood

Edna Faye Evans, 81, passed away unexpectedly at her residence in Muncie, Monday, May 24, 2004. 

Mrs. Evans was born June 24th to Homer and Rosa (Six) White. 

She came to Muncie in 1940 and has been a resident since. 

Edna worked as a housekeeper for Ball State for 17 years. 

Edna was a member at Shawnee Heights where she taught Sunday school, was a deaconess and on various committees, and was a member of the Ball State Sympathy Club.

Surviving are six children, Paul (wife, Amber), Evans, Muncie, Jerry (wife, Sheila), Evans, of Eaton, IN; James (wife, Tammy), Evans, of Muncie, IN; Norma (husband, Rex) Hoppie, of Parkersburg, West Virginia; Nena (husband, John) Stanley, of Winchester, IN and Sandra (husband, Santford), McClellan, of Muncie, IN; one sister, Naomi Gilbert of Elizabeth, West Virginia; three brothers, Dorvin White, (wife Anna Lea) of Elizabeth, West Virginia; Roscoe White, of Parkersburg, West Virginia; Ronzal White, (wife Gladys) of Frametown, West Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Opal White and Mary Evans both of Muncie, IN; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bud Moody Evans, who died in 1995, 5 brothers, and 4 sisters.

Services will be Thursday 10 a.m., May 27, 2004 at PARSON MORTUARY, 801 West Adams St., burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at PARSON MORTUARY from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 26th.
Memorials may be directed to Ball Memorial Hospital - Hospice or to the Shawnee Heights Baptist Church.
