Mary Evelyn Kirby
Mary Evelyn Kirby, 82, passed away at home early Tuesday morning after an extended illness.
She attended Muncie Community Schools. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and wife. She was born in New Lisbon, Indiana, to the late Milton and Edith Moon McCormick.
She is survived by five daughters, Donna Healy (husband-James) of Anderson, Katherine Hahn (husband-Kent) of Winchester, Sarah Jett of Muncie, Susie Jones (husband-Edward) of Jefferson, and Kelli Kirby of Muncie; eight sons, Gordon Kirby (wife-Darlene) of Muncie, Clarence McCormick (wife-Judy) of Arcanum, Ohio, Randall Jett (wife-Bonnie) of Bossier City, La., Michael Kirby (wife-Kay) of Greenville, Ohio, Larry Kirby (wife-Netia) of Muncie, Don Kirby (wife-June) of Indianapolis, Sam Kirby (wife-Lisa) of Muncie, and Dan Kirby (wife-Becky) of Muncie; 41 grandchilren, including Katie Fears of Muncie; 110 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granchildren; a brother, James McCormick of Gaston; a sister, Donnal Crow of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Kirby; parents; two daughters, Sharon Jett and Marilyn Kirby; a son, Harold Kirby; two grandchildren, Doug Kirby and Randy Reed; three sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Parson Mortuary with Rev. Steve Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at Parson Mortuary.
Memorial gifts may be given to the BMH Foundation Hospice program.
