Gene Jinks

The best guitar player I ever met, he could hear something and be able to play it. I had the pleasure of playing bass with him, Don Kirby, Bobby Stout, Marilyn Addington and June Jackson in The Out Of The Blue Band in the the very early 2000's.

Everett "Gene" Jinks 63, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2009.

He had served his country proudly in the U.S. Army.

He was a retired employee of Amtrak for over 28 years and a local talented musician.

Survivors include his mother, Irene Moore; children, Kimberly Baughman, Tony Jinks; 3 grandchildren, Dustin Baughman, Lindsey and Kimi Jinks; 2 great grandsons, Jacob and Alex Baughman; brother, Ernest Jinks.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, December, 4, 2009 at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 State Rd. 135 and Olive Branch Road, Greenwood.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 5 at the funeral home. Everett will be laid to rest in Salem Church Cemetery.
