Clarence Daniel Kirby, 99, passed away Monday, March 30, 2026 at his residence.

He was born September 7, 1926, in Muncie, the son of Clarence G. and Mattie E. (Sexton) Kirby. Clarence was a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Kirby worked for Indiana Gas for over 26 years.

Clarence was a member of Friends Memorial Church.

He is survived by his grandson, Jay (Jeanne) Gause; two great grandchildren, Nicholas (Kimberly) Gause and Clare (Zachary) Wiley; great-great grandchildren, John Wiley, Anna Wiley, Caroline Wiley, Evelyn Gause, and Elizabeth Wiley; and a sister, Pat Proctor.

Clarence was preceded in death by his wife of over 53 years, Marybell Kirby; two daughters, Jane Gause and Susie Rogers; and a granddaughter, Marjorie Gause.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 pm Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with his nephew, Rev. Steve Reed officiating. Burial will be held at Elm Ridge Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, from 3:00 pm until service time at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
