Susan Alena Aul
(December 30, 1960 – January 16, 2025)
Susie,
64, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home in Summitville,
Indiana, surrounded by her loved ones and pets, after courageously
battling complications from colon cancer. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana,
to the late Jerome and Dorothea Aul, Susie grew up to become a proud
graduate of Muncie Central High School, Class of 1979. She will be
lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, sister, cousin, mother, aunt,
friend, and her most cherished people call her “Grandma” or “City.”
A
dedicated nurse for 33 years, Susie graduated from the Ball State
University School of Nursing in 1992. She provided exceptional care and
compassion to her patients and their families in critical care,
progressive care, nursing home facilities, hospice patient care, home
health care, private care, and even teaching from her hospital bed
through her recent diagnosis.
Susie embraced life with passion
and found joy in the simplest pleasures. She delighted in being present
for her grandchildren’s special moments, tending to her plants, caring
for the animals on her farm, or sitting on her porch, sharing stories
and laughter with those she loved. Known affectionately by some as
“Susie Q,” she will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and
affirmations that “Life is Sweet” and she was “Livin’ the Dream.”
Susie
is survived by her wife, Jennifer Fromholz; in-laws Tom (Jessecca)
Fromholz, Sue Fromholz; daughters, Brandi (Jim) Hadley, Michelle (Chris)
Bullard, Jessica (James) Fromholz-Inman, and Emma Fromholz; siblings,
Sherri (Steve), Steve (Lori), and Scott (Diane); and grandchildren,
Abigail, Garrett, Morgan, Kendahl, Hayden, Gabby, Charlotte, and Devin;
and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, their spouses and children;
and her faithful dog Willow.
Visitation will be held Friday,
January 24, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at Loose Funeral Home, 200 W
53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana.
A Memorial Service will follow visitation, at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
